An Elevate Vets and Veterans Education Success Webinar

Elevate Vets(EV), created and supported by Veterans Education Success (VES), is a resource that provides higher education professionals with resources and insights to effectively support military-connected students, develop professionally, and be successful with this unique community of non-traditional learners.

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) has been a topic of great interest in higher education for many years. In the community of professionals working with non-traditional students, this is an even more vital topic as students seek to turn prior learning experiences and training into college credit to speed progress to degree attainment.  Please join experts in the field from California as they discuss how PLA can be leveraged for the military connected student.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Attendees will develop an understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with articulating military training and experiences to course and general education credit
  • Attendees will be exposed to a statewide intersegmental effort to decrease time to completion and minimize use of GI Bill funds for veterans to reach their academic goals
  • Attendees will gain access to methods and procedures to ease transition stress from military service to higher education
  • Attendees will learn the value of PLA/CPL
