Operation SoftSkill: How to Build Core Emotional Intelligence Competencies For Yourself & Your Military-Connected Students

Research shows that 80 – 90% of the competencies that differentiate top performers in professional settings are in the domain of social-emotional intelligence. Research also shows that veterans are often typecast as unfeeling, transactional, and less suited for roles that require high EQ. This session will challenge typecasting while exploring why it is so prominent. Participants will learn what social-emotional intelligence is, why it is vitally important, and how to build capacity for themselves and their students.
